Member Agencies

Member Agencies represented on the committee are Federal Agencies having responsibilities for radiation protection, including the following:

• U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
• U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
• U.S. Department of Energy
• U.S. Department of Defense
• U.S. Department of Homeland Security
• U.S. Department of Transportation
• The Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor
• U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

and any successor agencies.

Observer Agencies

Observer Agencies are invited because of their science policy and regulatory policy responsibilities. These include the following:

• Office of Science and Technology Policy
• Office of Management and Budget
• Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board

Representatives from two state radiation control organizations have been invited as regular observers because of their expertise in regulatory implementation and oversight. These representatives are currently Steve Collins (Illinois) and David J. Allard (Pennsylvania). Other state representatives routinely participate on various subcommittees.
